The Gage Milwaukee – Featured Venue
In October I had the pleasure of touring brand new Milwaukee (West Allis to be exact) wedding and event venue – The Gage! Ashley and Nina were kind enough to let me have one of the first looks of the newly completed space. They are a part of the Timber family who own Double B’s BBQ + Timber’s Catering just down the street! Their award winning BBQ is unmatched in Milwaukee. Make sure to stop in and try the brisket!
Ashley + Nina had BIG plans despite the pandemic and started construction on the building for The Gage in March of 2020.
October 24th marked their VERY first wedding! The location of The Gage is honestly perfect, nestled on the edge of MATC’s West Allis Campus. It’s close to the freeway for an easy on and off for guests, and also near State Fair Park. There are tons of restaurants and a few hotels in the neighborhood. This makes it more than comfortable for out-of-town guests who want to make it a weekend stay.
The exterior of The Gage Milwaukee is sure to charm your guests immediately upon arrival.
Its 1928 cream city brick structure (which hosts up to 300 guests) and modern iron accents warmly welcome your guests along with its romantic, twinkling string lights. Upon entering the space from 70th street, directly to your left is the most grand of grand staircases, leading upstairs to the loft area. The second floor also features an outdoor patio, so it’s perfect for cocktail hour while the main floor is transformed for dinner. Or, host your ceremony upstairs, and head on down to the party right after!
On the right of the entrance you’ll find the most adorable Instagramable photo corner complete with a glowing neon sign. Walking straight forward into the space is the large, absolutely stunning main entertaining space with a beautiful 28ft bar. This main event area, has tall ceilings and a long row of glass windows up top to let in an immense amount of natural light. The more natural light – especially in your dinner + reception area – the better it is for photos!
The Gage Milwaukee has an all-in-one layout with over 10,000 sq ft, making your day effortless and stress free. Its two getting ready rooms make it easy for your entire wedding party to get ready at the same location. Both rooms have optimal lighting, not only for photos, but also for hair and makeup application.
Not only is The Gage an absolutely stunning space for you and your guests to celebrate a most special day, believe me when I also say it’s also a vendor’s DREAM.
Ashley + Nina really created an incredible space that is not only beautiful with visually pleasing aspects throughout the space, but it’s very clear that function and practicality never left the top of their intentions for the space the entire time. This not only benefits vendors, but in turn then benefits you and helps your day to run SUPER smooth!
Some other INCREDIBLE features of The Gage Milwaukee:
- Avoid street parking! There’s more than enough parking spaces for your guests as well as your vendors – RIGHT ON SITE. (Really, they have access to up to 400 parking spaces!)
- Ridiculously functional floor plan and layouts with enough space for your guests to sit, stand, and eat comfortably
- They have a preferred vendor list, but you can bring in your OWN catering (this is a HUGE plus when selecting your venue!!!!)
- Separate vendor entrance – keeps the behind the scenes behind closed doors
- Cubby spaces for your guests to place their belongings for safe keeping until the end of the night
- Modern, romantic, and timeless interior design elements make the space transformable into almost any theme or style
